Hello Repnation,
John here: Our west coast tour was a great success featuring El Día de los Muertos parades in the Mission District of San Francisco, new celebrity fans, amazing workshops with the students at CalArts & University of Nevada, appreciative fans buying us hotel rooms and jazz organizations clamoring to get us down there again for special shows. Thanks to all of you that came out.

But now comes the event of the year…at least from a Reptet perspective.

The Seattle Agendacide Record Release Party this Thursday, 11/19. Agendacide is being released as a 45RPM vinyl record and digital download only. We are all beginning to move past the CD format people. The record comes with a code so you can download the mp3’s for you iPod and computer listening enjoyment, but you can also just purchase the digital files (in case you no longer, or never owned a turntable).

The party is going to be really fun and will feature Sam’s other project Orkestar Zirkonium kicking off the festivities. O.Z. describe themselves as, “a mobile, fourteen-member brass-and-drum ensemble that borrows from a variety of musical traditions, composes original music, and kicks out celebratory spectacle in a variety of circumstances. Zirkonium members hail from Circus Contraption, the Infernal Noise Brigade, the Anti-Fascist Marching Band, Reptet, the Empty Cage Quartet, the Fremont Philharmonic, and other groups; our songs draw from Eastern European / Roma brass, klezmer, Bollywood soundtracks, Ethiopian jazz, punk, funk, hiphop, and other musical idioms.”

Hi all,

John here. As Reptet gets ready for the release of our first vinyl record, I am working on ways to convince the world that our crappy music is the best crappy music in the world!  Not only do we not have a lead singer, but we don’t even have a guitar player! How’s that for no-commercial-potential? Anyway, I did my best Axel Rose impersonation for the latest record (Agendacide, 7″ red-vinyl – official release date 10/20/09) in hopes that we can become the next one-hit wonder and live off the royalties for the rest of our lives. The problem is, no label except those crazy bastards at Monktail would even think about putting out crap like this – and Monktail is to record labels what Reptet is to bands…

Anyhow, we are fighting forth like valiant Vikings (knowing that the battle is lost before we even begin) by touring in support of this record.  We hit the road on October 29th and will be playing every major city on the west coast except Portland (we’ll be playing there in December) and San Diego (to many Republicans down there).

Dig the gigs:

October 29th  Cottage Grove, OR – The Axe & Fiddle
October 30th  Chico, CA – The Coda Cafe
October 31st  South Lake Tahoe, CA The Divided Sky
November 1st  Placerville, CA – The Cozmic Cafe
November 2nd  San Francisco, CA – The Make-Out Room
November 3rd  Sacramento, CA – The Shady Lady
November 4th  Davis, CA – Delta of Venus
November 5th  Oakland, CA – Café Van Kleef
November 6th  Reno, NV – The Zephyr Lounge
November 7th  Los Angeles, CA – Molly Mallone’s
November 8th  Santa Barbara, CA – Live Culture
November 9th  Glendale, CA – JAX
November 13th  Olympia, WA – The Eastside Club
November 19th  Seattle, WA – The Tractor Tavern

Stay tuned to the new blog for a daily dose of buffoonery and blow-by-blow accounts of our tour escapades. We might even post some audio, video and hi-res pics of Tim’s nose hair.
